Designer Discussion: Emerging New York Designer Chabella Gomez Launches Ready-to-Wear Line, “CHABELLA”

Dear Pennies,

Recently, I attended the launch of New York emerging designer Chabella Gomez’s ready-to-wear line, “CHABELLA”. I originally met Chabella last Spring at an event for the Learning Annex which featured Joanna Coles, Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire and fashion designer Narcisco Rodriguez. After telling Chabella that I liked her dress, she told me she designed it and I insisted that we exchange information because I saw her talent as a designer and it only took one dress!

Months later, I must say that it awesome to see Chabella making her dreams come true by debuting her first ready-to-wear collection. The line is entitled “CHABELLA” and this collection was called “Paradiso” because it was inspired by tropical vacations and Mayan culture. The CHABELLA line features classic silhouettes combined with modern features. The CHABELLA line is for the woman who loves fashion because she uses it to express her personal style.

For the “Paradiso” collection, Chabella used bright colors like orange mixed with pink, and also used grey and white as a contrast to the brighter side of the collection. In essence, it was the perfect mix of spring. There were the orange and pink outfits for the bright sunny days and the grey and white for those rainy April showers. I enjoyed the collection immensely and I can’t wait to see how Chabella and her line grow and become bigger and bigger.

And there it is. The Fashion and Style of the Pen…de la Pen.
