Press Pen: Pen’s Headed to Charleston Fashion Week!

Dear Pennies & Pens,

So as you all may have noticed I have done quite a few posts on Charleston Fashion Week. Well, I am now happy to report that next week I’ll be in Charleston, SC covering Charleston Fashion Week! I’m really excited because it will definitely be an awesome networking experience, I’ll get to see some great emerging designers, and I’ve never been to Charleston and I love to travel.

Charleston Fashion Week is a Fashion Week held in Marion Square in Charleston, SC. This year’s event will be held March 22-26, 2011 and the five night celebration includes more than 30 runway shows, the Spring Bridal show, the Emerging Designer Competition, and the Rock the Runway Model competition. Check out the Charleston Fashion Week website for details.

In essence, make sure you follow me on Twitter (@LoudPen) and also check the blog for updates. After covering New York Fashion Week, Style.uz Art Week in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and many other NYC events, I’m really excited to go to Charleston and see some fresh talent. A lot of people underestimate the “non-mainstream” fashion shows because they think no one goes there and there’s no talent. Well, big names like Derek Blasberg from Style.com, Fern Mallis founder of NY Fashion Week, and Anne Slowey Fashion News Director of ELLE will all be judging the emerging designer competition so that’s simply not the case. Fashion and style are everywhere and part of the reason cities like New York and L.A. are so stylish is because of the diversity. Anyways, I’m off topic so I’m ending this post now.

And there is. The Fashion & Style of the Pen…de la Pen.
