Press Pen: NOMIA S/S 2012 Show Review

Dear Pennies & Pens,

It’s Pen here to report on the NOMIA S/S 2012 NYFW show. NOMIA is an NYC based label by fashion designer, Yara Flinn. I covered NOMIA last season on de la Pen here. Since then, I am pleased to announce that Yara has grown her line being that she went from showing at the Standard to Lincoln Center. This made me super excited to see what cool NOMIA treats I would see for Spring/Summer.

This season, NOMIA stayed true to its “cool, downtown NYC chic” style while switching it up by adding more color with the burnt orange colored pieces. Additionally, there were the asymmetrical pieces as well as shirtdresses, trousers, and sleeveless shirts. The collection’s colors were blue, ivory, beige, caramel, grey, burnt orange, and white. The fabrics used were linen, silk, with bits of Vermillon and chiffon.

My favorite pieces were the burnt orange shirtdress, a grey shirtdress, and also an ensemble that consisted of a white blazer, black top, and maroon trousers. Also, I adored the shoes! These were done by United Nude. Overall, the collection was cool, stylish, and it really spoke to downtown NYC. For more pictures, check out my Facebook Page.

And there it is. The Fashion & Style of the Pen…de la Pen.
