Dear Pennies & Pens,

It’s Pen here to report on Falguni & Shane Peacock Fall/Winter 2012. Falguni & Shane Peacock are a married design duo who made their debut in Mumbai in 2008. Since that time, they have started to become the go-to line for the celebrity seeking edgy glamour.

For this collection, Falguni & Shane Peacock showed a collection that was based on the color black with splashes of color. There was intricate beading, high slits on gowns, and sheer dresses. The models stomped down the runway with fiercely painted eyebrows and high ponytails. I absolutely loved the way the models were styled because it matched the collection to a T. The way the models were styled gives you an idea of how the clothes should be worn which is very key to actually get the line worn by celebs, bought by buyers, and reviewed by the press.

Overall, this collection was definitely one of the stand outs of New York Fashion Week for me. It made me “ohhh” and “ahhh” and even better I actually remembered the collection after seeing it. As I’ve said before, if your collection is immediately forgettable it’s back to the drawing board for you. Falguni & Shane Peacock definitely need to go back to the drawing board but not because the collection needed work, they need to go back and create more edgy fabulosity!

And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything.
