Press Pen: Lela Rose F/W 2012

Dear Pennies & Pens,

It’s Pen here to report on Lela Rose Fall/Winter 2012. For this collection, Lela was inspired by Spanish Architect Santiago Calatrava. This collection was about combining clean angular silhouettes, razor sharp tailoring, beautiful prints, and romance.

I really liked this collection. The prints were interesting, yet simple at the same time. Also, I love the fact that the tailoring was so well executed, because in order for a collection to be wearable it must be well made. I also like the fact that the collection didn’t take me too far out of my comfort zone but it still felt fresh and different.

I also loved the colors chosen. There was grey, pumpkin, a mustard yellow, rose, and magenta. In fact, two of my favorite pieces were made in this color. The lovely magenta knee length dress could be worn to business casual affairs and could be dressed up for a night out. The other magenta piece that I loved was the evening gown because the color would look amazing on any skin tone and allow a woman to stand out. Overall, this collection was solid as a rock.

And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything.
