Pen.Point: The Seasoned Traveler Radisson Ft. Worth South Review

Sponsored post

Dear Pennies & Pens,

As you all know, I stayed at the Radisson Ft. Worth South while in town for the Ft. Worth Food + Wine Festival this past weekend. Upon arriving, I checked in with no problems and even had the pleasure of meeting the hotel’s general manager. We had already spoken via email but it was nice to meet him in person.

Next, I made my way to my room and found it to be super cute and clean. As a perfectonist Virgo, I am stickler for cleanliness so I’m so glad I didn’t have to worry about that at the Radisson. Usually, when I work with hotels, I take photos of the room as soon as I get there so I can capture the room at it’s best before I mess anything up, lol!

After snapping some pics, I had to hurry up and get ready for the festival so I didn’t get to enjoy the room as much as I would’ve liked on that first night. However, coming back to a clean, comfy bed was the highlight of my day! Prior to leaving Dallas, I had cleaned my apartment and finished a few other tasks, then I drove to Ft. Worth (45 min), after that I went to 2 different events for the festival. In essence, I was exhausted when I got back to the hotel on Friday.

Since I was quite hungover on Saturday (don’t judge me), I spent most of the day in my room. This proved to be just what the doctor ordered because I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to relax recently. That said, I needed to spend an entire day doing nothing because it’s been weeks if not months since I’ve done that. Plus if your room has a 37 inch tv and a King sized bed, how could staying in your hotel room all day be a bad thing?!

I did escape my room for dinner as the Radisson invited me to eat at their restaurant Route 66. The food was absolutely scrumptious! It was just what I needed to get back in the swing of things. I had the Samosas for an appetizer and the Veg Biryani for my entree. Both dishes were recommended by Route 66’s Chef Qadir who I had the pleasure of meeting prior to dinner.

Chef Qadir told me all about the menu as Route 66 offers two different menus, American and Indian. Since I’m Vegan, he recommended I order something from the Indian menu which was fine with me because I love Indian food. Route 66 uses fresh, local ingredients so nothing is frozen and they prepare meals when they are ordered. In essence, you won’t get any pre-cooked, unhealthy food here.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Radisson Ft. Worth South. It was a lovely, relaxing visit. I would definitely recommend it for your next visit to Ft. Worth because it’s affordable, centrally located, and it’s nice. Be sure to check out the hotel here: Radisson.com/FtWorth
