Pen.Point: Hotel Sorella KC

This post was created in collaboration with Hotel Sorella

Dear Pennies & Pens,

As you all know, my assistant Renee Jones and I stayed at Hotel Sorella Kansas City while producing the KC and All That Jazz issue of de la Pen…All Pen Everything. Hotel Sorella was gracious enough to sponsor our visit and we are so thankful to them for their support!

Renee and I truly enjoyed our visit to Hotel Sorella! The hotel is absolutely stunning. Hotel Sorella’s decor is modern, unique, and original. I loved the classic color palette of black, white, and gray that was used throughout the hotel. Hotel Sorella also features several large chandeliers which are truly a sight for sore eyes.

As far as my hotel room, that was lovely too! My room was on the 5th floor (Renee’s was on the 4th) so I had a lovely view of Country Club Plaza. The room featured a King sized bed, large flat screen tv, and chaise lounge. The bathroom also featured cool design elements like granite counters and an extra large shower. The shower head has excellent pressure although it was awkward that it can’t be moved at times (you have to stand directly under it).

My favorite feature of the room was the bed hands down! That bed was seriously comfortable. After all that driving, I needed a comfy place to lay my head. The chaise lounge was also a lifesaver when I went to visit Renee in her room. It provided a comfortable place for me to sit while we wrote and posted our live social media posts.

Another thing that I loved about Hotel Sorella was the complimentary European Breakfast. This definitely came in handy because we were able to eat in the morning (I’m obsessed with breakfast), without having to leave the hotel. Plus it was free! How could one go wrong with such fabulousity?! Hotel Sorella also has a complimentary shuttle service that will take you anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel. This saved us cash on Ubers (we didn’t want to drink & drive), so that was definitely ill.

Lastly, the staff at Hotel Sorella was truly knowledgeable and helpful. They were able to recommend local jazz lounges and restaurants for us to check out, so they helped created our itinerary without even knowing it. I also loved how Hotel Sorella surprised us with a bottle of Riesling when we checked into our rooms! Riesling is my favorite wine so I was on cloud 9!

But sadly, all good things must come to end. So we did have to check out of Hotel Sorella. Although, we did want to stay forever. However, we do plan to come back for a longer trip so stay tuned.
