Dear Pennies & Pens,

It’s ya girl LoudPen coming back at ya louder than ever! My homeskillet Janet wasn’t lying when she said “funny how time flies when you’re having fun”. It has been 7 years since I started de la Pen. 7 years ago, this site was nothing more than a fashion blog by a girl from Ohio chasing her dreams while living in NYC.

Now, I’m all grown up. And so is de la Pen. These days, I’m living in Dallas and I have two businesses, ISLP and 8515. In fact, ISLP is the publisher of de la Pen and we’ve got several new products in development. Our new products include LPZ, a hip-hop and R&B compilation album, Pennies & Pens, a clothing and accessories line for multicultural millennials, Loud Magazine, a bi-annual literary lifestyle magazine, and The Loudest Pen Ever, a book of original quotes by me.

As far as 8515, we’re working with a Houston based jewelry designer, K Jones to provide branding, marketing, and public relations. Additionally, we’re planning our next event, Pensgiving. We also produced an event this past August called The Outsider/Insider Brunch. So as you can see, ya girl has been busy!!!!

So let’s get to the meat and potatoes, shall we? As you know, this past Spring, we decided to start publishing de la Pen’s latest articles as an issue. This way each issue has a focus which it makes it easier for us to create and even easier for y’all to read. Our first issue was “KC and All That Jazz” after that it was “le magazine noir” so with no further adieu we give you, 7 Years of Ink.

7 Years of Ink is the inaugural anniversary issue of de la Pen…All Pen Everything. For the past 7 years, we have been quietly producing and publishing original content. However, we have decided to change that by creating a yearly anniversary issue of the magazine. This way, we can celebrate our accomplishments as well as seeing where we can improve.

For 7 Years of Ink, we’ll be highlighting the best articles on de la Pen…All Pen Everything as well as introducing new articles. We want 7 Years of Ink to be a fusion of classic and fresh content. Our goal is to show readers that we started from the bottom but now we’re here.

7 Years of Ink will include a collection of our editors’ and readers’ favorites. Additionally, 7 Years of Ink will feature new content such as the AfriDally fashion and lifestyle editorial as well as Fall and Holiday focused stories. Since we think it’s fun to look back at the past many of the articles will also be nostalgic.

7 Years of Ink will be just like everything else published on de la Pen…All Pen Everything aka original, authentic, and real. We’ve spent months putting this issue together so be sure to stay tuned as more content is released!

And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything. With us, keeping it real never goes wrong.
