Coming Soon To A Page Near You: Coolin in Copenhagen

Media Visit

Dear Pennies & Pens,

So in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 – I am going to announce the most EPIC news I have ever shared!!! At the beginning of October from the 4th – 7th, I’ll be traveling to Copenhagen, Denmark to work with Andersen Hotel. While there, I’ll be creating content for Coolin in Copenhagen, an international digital travel guide by ISLP.

Coolin in Copenhagen is a digital travel guide dedicated to featuring Danish fashion, art, food and design. I’ll be traveling to Copenhagen to visit local shops, restaurants, art galleries, museums and attractions to give readers an exclusive inside look on Copenhagen. I’ll offer insight on where to stay, what to do and how to get there.

I have been wanting to visit this city for years. Like literally YEARS. I first developed an interest in the Danish capital while living in NYC. Danish fashion is just so chic and since I was a Fashion Blogger at the time, it caught my eye. So I pitched to brands in the area for years but never could get a “yes”. Then finally in April in between trips to Denver and Portland, I reached out to Andersen. And to my surprise, they said yes. It just goes to show when God has something for you…He has something for YOU.

Andersen Hotel is a chic hotel located in one of Copenhagen’s trendiest neighborhoods of Vesterbro. As it states on their website: “Andersen Hotel is an inspirational boutique-style hotel with a focus on design, personality and heart. All 69 rooms and suites are modern, urban and uniquely decorated with wallpaper, pillows, and curtains from the international design brand Designers Guild. Opt for one of our Cool Standard Rooms, the more spacious Brilliant Deluxe rooms, a lovely Wonderful room with sofa lounge, or one of the spacious Amazing Junior Suites, which are perfect for families. Whatever you choose, we are sure you’ll be impressed.”

Located in Vesterbro, Andersen Hotel is only 200 meters from Copenhagen Central Train Station, and within easy walking distance of  ‘StrĂžget’, the world’s longest walking street. Vesterbro, or Copenhagen V, is one of the city’s most lively and vibrant areas, with many restaurants, coffee shops and bars. A large open area, it’s well-known for its many restaurants with a high gastronomic standard, nightclubs, and small galleries. Vesterbro also boasts its own charming foodie street, VĂŠrnedamsvej – a gourmet’s paradise with artisan food shops, bars, restaurants and cafĂ©s.

I am absolutely enamored with this hotel as well as Versterbro and I cannot wait to experience it in person! While staying at Andersen, I fully intend to use their bikes to travel around Copenhagen and I’ll definitely be checking out the daily wine hour. Y’all know I LOVE wine. I also cannot wait to explore Vesterbro. It sounds so cool and fresh! I’m literally going to be Coolin in Copenhagen.

I’m flying to Copenhagen from NYC not Dallas because it was cheaper to fly from NYC. I plan to do an entire post on how to get cheap flights but in the meantime let me give you this crucial tip: to save money while traveling you must be flexible with your travel dates, times and destinations. I know this is isn’t easy when you have a full time job, family, etc but with the planning, you can make it work!

Flights from Dallas to Copenhagen are between $1,100 – $1,200 roundtrip whereas I paid about $485 total from NYC. So umm, I don’t think I have to tell you which option is best for those that are ballin on a budget like me. I do still have to get my ticket from Dallas to NYC but that’ll be no more than $250 (at least that’s all I’m paying) so I’ll still save significantly on travel.

Flying through NYC is turning into a fun unexpected surprise because I have friends that live in and around the city so I plan to catch up with them while there. So basically, I’m getting two trips for the price of one! And who could be mad at that?!

Be sure to follow my ink on da gram: @LoudPen and @ISLPDTX for real time updates + behind the scenes exclusives!

And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything. With us, keeping it real never goes wrong.
