K Penny: What is a Season’s Greetings in K Pop?

Dear Pennies & Pens,

In this post, K Penny: What is a Season’s Greetings in K Pop, I am going to offer insight on what a Season’s Greetings in K Pop is. As y’all know, I’ve been an avid K Pop fan for almost 3 years so I’m seeking to share what I’ve learned along the way.

I purchased my first set of Seasonā€™s Greetings last year (actually one was a gift from my sister). Anyway, thatā€™s when I learned what a Seasonā€™s Greetings in K Pop is.

Prior to owning my own Seasonā€™s Greetings, I didnā€™t understand what was included in this type of merch. That said, I wanted to help other K Pop newbies with an explanation of what a Seasonā€™s Greetings in K Pop is.

What is a Season’s Greetings in K Pop?

A Season’s Greetings in K Pop is a collection of merchandise such as a desk or wall calendar, photobook, photo cards, stickers, a diary, posters, and more. Season’s Greetings feature a K Pop band or solo artist.

It’s called a Season’s Greetings because the main component is the calendar so think of it as a calendar starring your favorite K-Pop band or soloist. A Season’s Greetings is about wrapping up the year and getting fans excited for what’s to come in the new year.

My favorite K-Pop artists include MAMAMOO, MONSTA X, WONHO, and Baekho so I usually buy a Season’s Greetings from them. Each year the artist uses a different concept for the Season’s Greetings which makes it unique and fun.

Why Do K-Pop Groups do a Season’s Greetings?

K-Pop groups do Season’s Greetings because it’s a great way to connect with fans all year round. Since a Season’s Greetings revolves around a yearly calendar (with other inclusions), it’s a cool way to spice up the traditional calendar.

Each Season’s Greetings has its own concept and theme that is exclusive to that year. Season’s Greetings are initially sold as a pre-order then sold as a regular product after release.

Basically, for 2023 (this post was originally written & published in 2022), the pre-order period was in late 2022 usually between November – December.

When is the Season’s Greetings Pre-Order Period?

Season’s Greetings are sold as a pre-order the year before starting in early November. From that time, fans can pre-order the Season’s Greetings which will be delivered after the pre-order period.

The pre-order period varies based on the artist and their agency. But usually since the pre-order period happens in November, the delivery period will start in December or January.

How to Find Out About Season’s Greetings Pre-Order Period

To be notified of your favorite band or soloist Season’s Greetings pre-order period, check out and follow their social media pages on Daum Fancafe, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Weverse, etc. This way as soon as the pre-order period starts, you’ll be notified.

Also check out local and international retailers that sell K-Pop merchandise. Shops like Music Plaza and Ktown4u also sell Season’s Greetings. Just like the artistā€™s agency, K-Pop shops will also post on their social media and in their email newsletters when they have Seasonā€™s Greetings available for pre-order.

While I don’t actively post on social media, I admit that I still have my accounts for this very reason. If you want to know what’s happening in the world, you have to check the innanet.

Where to Buy a Season’s Greetings

You can buy a Season’s Greetings from a variety of Korean and international retailers. As I mentioned before, there’s Ktown4u and GMarket in Korea or locally in the US, there’s Music Plaza, VT Carrollton or Eve Pink.

You can also buy Season’s Greetings directly from the artist’s agency. Check out the artist’s social media pages for links on where to buy Season’s Greetings. If you buy directly from the artist’s agency or partner, it usually comes with perks such as exclusive photocards or film photos.

Note, you don’t have to pre-order a Season’s Greetings, you can still buy them after release. However, it’s usually harder to find particular artists. So it’s best to pre-order and secure your copy.

How Much is a Season’s Greetings?

The price of a Season’s Greetings varies based on where you buy it and how much you pay for shipping. International fans should note that while the price is cheaper from a Korean retailer, the shipping cost is significant.

Korean retailers and the artistā€™s agency usually price Seasonā€™s Greetings between $30-40 USD whereas US retailers charge $50-60 USD. But again the buzzkill of ordering it from a Korean retailer means itā€™s at least $30 for shipping which puts you at $60 total i.e., the same price as a US retailer.

So technically US based international fans should expect to pay $60 per Seasonā€™s Greetings. Pricey, I know. But donā€™t worry, Iā€™m working on something that involves saving money on the product costs by ordering from Korean retailers and also saving money on shipping costs to the US. Stay tuned for details!

Is It Worth It to Buy a Season’s Greetings?

Yes, I definitely think it is worth it to buy a Season’s Greetings. Especially for your favorite band or soloist because it’s a special piece of merch to create beautiful memories with your favorite artist.

The thing about a Season’s Greetings is that it’s fun AND useful merchandise for fans of the artist or band. That’s why I think it’s worth it to buy.

My MONSTA X & WONHO Season’s Greetings came with a desk calendar and diary, posters, photocards, post cards, film photos, there were so many inclusions it was crazy! Also it’s a genuinely useful merch.

How I use my Season’s Greetings and My 2023 List

I use my MONSTA X calendar for business and the WONHO one for personal use.Ā I write my to do list and daily activities in my MONSTA X calendar.

Then I write fun events like going to a concert or on a trip in my WONHO calendar. This way, I use one calendar to stay organized and the other one is just for fun.

For 2023, I’m getting Season’s Greetings from MAMAMOO, Whee In, MONSTA X, WONHO, and Baekho. I’m so hype it’s crazy! Lol Santa is definitely coming thru for Penny as I’ve been very good this year. Lol!
