Now Let Me Ink That Page…Pen, Where You Been?! — In Houston, TX!

Dear Pennies & Pens,

WOW. It’s been a long time since I said or wrote that. I’m sorry, I’ve been gone for so long. My life is still in the midst of a crazy transition. I can’t reveal all yet but I will in due time. The biggest thing is that I no longer live in NYC. Yes, that’s right, I am now calling Houston, TX home. The question I always get asked is why moved from NYC to Houston.

For me it’s always a simple answer, because it’s cheaper, still big, and I have family here. Need I say more? Plus since I went to Europe at 16, the Bahamas at 20, and Central Asia by my late 20s (not to mention all my domestic travels), I’m not scared to travel or live in an unfamiliar place. I look at it as a new challenge. I’ve already adjusted to the fact that Texans are all about their food and their alcohol. Also, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, challenge them while driving, you shall regret it. LOL!

But seriously, Texans are super nice and friendly. So far I’ve mostly been in Houston but I’ve also been to Dallas. I love both cities but different things about them. There’s more happening in Houston as far as events and places to go but Dallas is more stylish and definitely cleaner. But then Houston is bigger so it’s more so if you want the big city life, go to Houston, if you want mid size, go to Dallas. Also, I have to give Dallas props on their architecture. It is phenomenal! And the lights at night make it look super pretty.

However, the food in Houston is another level! Omg, there has not been one thing I’ve eaten that hasn’t tasted good. I waited so long to drop this news because I was seeking to get settled. I’m still working out the kinks but things are looking up! I do plan to diversify myself now that I’m in Houston. Meaning I’ll be continuing on with the transition of making de la Pen a lifestyle site with everything from fashion to art to sports to music posts. I also plan to start working on a new editorial calendar so I can develop some fresh content for you guys. I also wouldn’t mind doing some cool Holiday posts. I’ve already been lining up projects and collaborations that you’ll see here on de la Pen.

In essence, though I’ve been playing #QuietPen, I’m always here. And my Pen will always be LOUD.

And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything.
