Dear Pennies & Pens,

It’s ya girl LoudPen here to officially announce the release of #MakeUrPenLOUD: How To Be A Lifestyle Blogger. I am SO excited right now! I honestly cannot believe this moment has come. I started writing the book in September and it is finally complete and available for purchase.

As you all know from my last few posts, Press Pen: Jewels by Cacha` and #MakeUrPenLOUD Debut at Flavor’s Night OutNow Let Me Ink That Page: #MakeUrPenLOUD, and Press Pen: Flavor’s Night Out, the book and my event, Flavor’s Night Out have literally been running my life and world.

I have lost sleep, time, friends, blood, sweat, and tears over this book. I mean I have just been literally eating, sleeping, and breathing this book. The crazy part about the book is now that it has been released I have to focus on sales and marketing! That’s clearly going to be the hardest part. Not because the book isn’t good but because it is hard to launch a new product.

There are already millions of books out there and there are a ton of blogging resources from books to ebooks to blogging conferences! So it’s like what makes #MakeUrPenLOUD different from every other book? #MakeUrPenLOUD is specifically about how to be a Lifestyle Blogger. #MakeUrPenLOUD teaches you how to create unique content for your lifestyle blog.

The ability to create original content is crucial to landing sponsors, advertisers, and building a readership. Without dope content, no sponsor will want to work with you and no one will want to read your blog.

Additionally, if you feature cookie cutter content on your blog, you will get lost in the blogging sauce. There are simply too many blogs out there so if you don’t find a way to differentiate yourself, you won’t be seen as a resource.

The book starts with my story where I share personal details about my childhood in Ohio, my college years, and how I became LoudPen. After that in Chapter 2, I define what a lifestyle blogger is because upon writing the book I discovered there was no definition of a lifestyle blogger.

Chapter 3 offers advice on how to find content for your blog. Then Chapters 4-7 focus on how to write about fashion, attend New York Fashion Week, plan fashion & lifestyle photoshoots, and how to collaborate with fashion and beauty brands.

Chapter 8 breaks down how to create beauty posts and Chapter 9 teaches you how to write about music via album reviews. Chapter 10 is about how to write about films via film reviews.

Next is Chapter 11 which is all about how to write about art. Chapter 12 provides tips on how to write book reviews. Chapters 13-15 focus on creating travel content, planning press trips, and collaborating with travel brands.

In Chapter 16, I outline how to create a media kit. Chapter 17 offers general guidelines that lifestyle bloggers should follow when writing about brands. Chapter 18 shows you how to attend and cover events. Chapter 19 explains how to conduct interviews.

Chapter 20 helps you learn how to network and develop business relationships. Chapter 21 is about marketing your blog both online and off. Chapter 22 is about how you can evaluate the success of your blog.
