Press Pen: Alon Livné Fall/Winter 2013 Show Review

Dear Pennies & Pens,

Well the time has finally come, this post marks my last and final post for New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2013. Hallelujah! OMG, I am so happy you have no idea. LOL.

Moving right along, I am so happy to be ending my #NYFW FW 2013 with Alon Livné! Alon is a ridiculously talented designer from Israel. According to his press kit, “Alon Livné has worked in premiere luxury European houses and is currently Israel’s most prestigious young fashion designer. Livné is the designer of choice for several of Israel’s prominent performing entertainment and art figures; his store, located in the fashion epicenter of Tel Aviv, has become an international destination for stylists, editors, and fashion enthusiasts alike. Alon’s designs regularly grace the pages of Israel’s prime magazines, which celebrate the acclaimed designer’s characteristic balance of feminine spirit and glamour with complex texture and couture sensibility.”

Being that Alon has such a strong international following, it is only a matter of time before he infiltrates the New York market and the rest of the world. Additionally, Alon’s show was held at Lincoln Center which is definitely one of the most prestigious locations to showcase a collection at New York Fashion Week so he’s definitely “One to Watch”.

Personally, I loved the collection! It was very futuristic, sexy, and daring. It’s actually extremely difficult for me to even identify a favorite piece. There were several gowns that featured intricate cut-out details that leave the chest exposed in some areas and yet the dress shows no cleavage; these pieces were phenomenal. There was also a black pantsuit that I adored. Matter of fact, the collection only featured black as far as color. But don’t worry it was still diverse and oh so unique.
