Press Pen: The Pin Show

Dear Pennies & Pens,

This past weekend, I attended The Pin Show at The Bomb Factory here in Dallas. That said, I present to you Press Pen: The Pin Show. The Pin Show is an annual event that features the latest in locally produced, independent fashion. With over 120 looks from more than 20 designers, The Pin Show provides seasoned independent and emerging fashion designers, photographers, artists, stylists and retail buyers with a platform to showcase their work.

Additionally, The Pin Show offers the public a unique fashion experience that is generally reserved for high end designers and their clientele. This year’s event included musical guests Zhora and friends, featuring Dezi5, Ronnie Heart, Rat Rios and Sam Lao.

The Pin Show was on the same day as The Dallas Festival of Ideas & the Carneal Simmons reception so I almost missed it because I completely forgot about it! #BadBlogger, right?! But thank goodness my iPhone is more on point than me because my Google Calendar reminder went off 30 minutes before the event and I was able to make it in time!

And I’m so glad I did because the event was fabulous! It was seriously the “who’s who” of the Dallas fashion/arts community because the venue was packed. That’s no easy feat seeing as how The Bomb Factory can hold a few thousand people. Moving right along, when I got to the show, I checked in and went to find my seat.

I was excited to find that I would be sitting front row in the press section. This was great because I met fellow bloggers and we chatted about the clothes & the show. I really loved the event production as far as the setup and layout of the show.

The fashion show was pretty dope too! I loved seeing the designers work because I like to support indie designers. I also enjoyed the music performances! It really gave the show a unique element.
