8515 Presents: K. Jones

Dear Pennies & Pens,

So a few weeks ago, I attended the Flea Style event here in Dallas. This event was truly fabulous and I met so many cool people! One of the people I met was Jewelry Designer, Kendra Jones. Kendra was a vendor at the event, there to sell her beautiful handmade jewelry.

During the event, Kendra and I chatted for a few minutes and I told her all about 8515. We exchanged business cards and promised to keep in touch. After I followed up with Kendra via email, we connected for a conference call. On that call, I learned that Kendra needed helped with defining her brand.

She’s been designing jewelry for a few years now and she sells well at shows but she’s been looking to boost online sales. Also, Kendra wasn’t sure about the direction she should go in with her brand.

That’s when I realized that Kendra needed a mixture of branding, social media marketing, & PR. In essence, I suggested a 1 hour consultation where I could give her custom advice and tips on branding, social media marketing, and PR.

As it turns out, some ducks have all the luck and I am one of them because Kendra agreed to do the consultation. So once we got all the buzzkill stuff out of the way, aka invoicing and payment, we scheduled a date/time for the call.

To prepare for the call, I took a good hard look at Kendra’s website and social media presence. I also researched other independent jewelry designers to see what they are doing as far as branding, marketing, & PR.

Lastly, I brainstormed ideas about branding, social media marketing, and PR that Kendra would be able to execute. I wrote all my notes in the agenda I prepared for the call so that I would be able to send to Kendra after the call.

I knew Kendra would probably take notes on the call but I figured having this document as a backup wouldn’t hurt. Plus I figured that I could email my notes to Kendra (which I did do) so she’d be able to reference them later.

In essence, the call was extremely successful and I truly believe that Kendra found it to be beneficial. Since then, we’ve spoken about collaborating on other projects in the future so stay tuned for that!
