Mix n Mingle: An 8515 Production

Dear Pennies & Pens,

As you all hopefully know, my agency, 8515, produces events. Last year we hosted Flavor’s Night Out in New York. At Flavor’s Night Out, we launched two original brands JBC (Jewels by Cacha`) and ISLP (The InkSpot). If you missed that post, please feel free to check it out here: Flavor’s Night Out

Since Flavor’s Night Out was such a success, we’ve been looking to produce more events as well as expand into different markets. That said, now that I am based in Dallas, we decided to host a Mix n Mingle event to help local creative entrepreneurs connect with each other, network, exchange ideas, share resources and more.

Mix n Mingle was about introducing attendees to 8515 and ISLP as well as celebrating the launch of the Dallas chapter of the Nonfiction Authors Association. Mix n Mingle was held at Crawshay Gallery in the Design District.

During Mix n Mingle, I talked about how Cacha and I started 8515 as well as why we created our individual businesses, JBC and ISLP. Additionally, I spoke about the Nonfiction Authors Association and how I started working with the organization.

Next, we offered guests the opportunity to introduce themselves and talk about what they do. After that, our sponsor Phil Crawshay talked about his photography gallery and life as a photographer.

And last but not least, attendees were able to purchase a signed copy of #MakeUrPenLOUD: How To Be A Lifestyle Blogger and/or JBC. Additionally, guests were able to nibble on lite bites and sip wine throughout the event.

It was truly an amazing event and I feel blessed to have been a part of such a cool project! Two attendees, Sil and Kimi, used to work together at a local Dallas high school and they hadn’t seen each other in 7 years! So it is truly a wonderful feeling that Mix n Mingle helped these former colleagues reconnect. Other attendees also exchanged info to collaborate on future projects.

There were so many highlights of the event such as attendees admiring Phil’s amazing photography. I lost count of the number of people who complimented Phil’s work. That said, I am thrilled that I was able to help Phil promote his beautiful photos. Another highlight was being able to sign as copies of #MakeUrPenLOUD for those that purchased the book as well as take photos with them.

I am so thankful to everyone who came to the event! I truly appreciate your support. I also want to personally thank my CSF girls: Eliora, Kenya, Chiara, Cassidy, Rachel, Tori, Celeste, and Eunice. I would also like to give honorable mention to Axel, Mike, and Austin. Their support means the world to me!
