Press Pen: Fashion X Dallas 2016

Dear Pennies & Pens,

Fashion X Dallas 2016 was absolutely fabulous!!! For those that donā€™t know, Fashion X Dallas was established in 2014 by Matt Swinney, Founder of Austin Fashion Week. Fashion X Dallas is the premiere ā€œfashion weekā€ in the DFW market and features 3 nights of runway shows each Fall.

This yearā€™s event featured runway collections from local DFW-based designers, Season Winners and All Stars from the hit Lifetime Television show Project Runway, and emerging designers from across the globe.

FXD also gives young designers the opportunity to showcase their collections through CAPSULE, a 3-look mini collection. Finally, over 20 curated Gallery spaces featured the best in emerging jewelry and accessories designers each night.

My favorites from this yearā€™s event included: Suit Supply, Eze Azenabor, ShuEsq, Sonjia Williams, and Vintage Martini. Each of these designers brought something unique, original yet classic to the table. It was such a pleasure seeing their pieces on the runway and in the gallery!

I must admit that this yearā€™s event felt like New York Fashion Week…like seriously! I was completely overwhelmed…but in a good way. Itā€™s been awhile since my NYFW days so I had forgotten how hectic covering a fashion show can be.

Taking photos while posting on social media and holding your drink is no easy task. And let us not forget, I was also wearing heels! Oh and a dress! And yā€™all know how Penny feels about dressesā€¦although I did look pretty fabbity fab if I do say so myself (see below).

But seriously, Fashion X Dallas was truly a spectacular event. Between the fabulous fashions, stellar networking, and the opportunity to experience emerging and established brands like sponsors Chloe Wine Collection, MiniLuxe, and Cadillac, the event was awesome!

I would highly recommend attending next year. To learn more, visit: fashionxdallas.com. P.S. Read my previous posts on the event here:Ā Fashion X Dallas
