Pen’s Rhythm Nation: How I Collected 48 Vinyl Records in 1 Year

Dear Pennies & Pens,

In this post, Pen’s Rhythm Nation: How I Collected 48 Vinyl Records in 1 Year, I am going to talk about just that. How I built my growing vinyl collection.

Earlier this year, I wrote about Donna Summer and Diana Ross records but as my collection grew, I realized I wouldn’t be able to talk about each album individually as originally planned. So instead, I decided to do this post and give you a glimpse at my whole collection.

The short answer of how I collected 48 records in a year is that I just bought them. Every time I had extra money, I went to the record store or shopped online.

At first, vinyl collecting was just a quarantine hobby but then I realized that I love and miss physical music. Streaming is cool but there’s nothing like holding something from your favorite artist in your hand.

In the video below, I share the records in my collection, how I got them (when I can remember), talk about why I started my collection as well as what I like about each record in my collection.

It’s a fun video – sorry for the length it was tough to talk about 48 albums in a short period of time. So the video is movie length, if you’ve got a busy schedule like me, watch it in spurts.

And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything. With us, keeping it real never goes wrong.
