In this post, Pen’s Rhythm Nation: Big Boss by Keke Palmer Album Review, I review Keke Palmer’s newest album, Big Boss. Big Boss was released on May 12, 2023.
Y’all this album is my new shit!!! It has been years since I related to an album this much. It’s like Keke was seriously speaking my language. It is just so relatable and real.
As a millennial Black woman, I’ve lost interest in a lot of modern music (besides K-Pop) because the lyrics and melodies in a lot of today’s most popular songs are just blah to me.
Big Boss by Keke Palmer Album Review
However, Keke combined modern pop culture with the classic elements of R&B (i.e., thoughtful lyrics and cool melodies) to create her own unique sound. This album is the new classic. Something about it is just so timeless and fresh.
In the vlog below, I review the album while listening to the songs. I am trying out a new album review format (although YouTube is gonna flag the video). I thought it would be cool to play the songs as I review the album so that you (Pennies & Pens) can listen to the songs with me. Kinda like a bootleg reaction video.
Anyway, check out the vlog below. I am trying to incorporate comedy into my vlogs so that I combine music and comedy – two of my favorite art forms. So we’ll see how this goes.
