K Penny: Youth by Kihyun Album Review

Dear Pennies & Pens,

In this post, K Penny: Youth by Kihyun Album Review, I review Kihyun’s 1st Mini Album, Youth. As y’all know, I absolutely love Kihyun and MONSTA X. Check out my unboxing post on Kihyun’s 1st single album, Voyager as well as the review of the album.

Youth is truly an iconic album! I know I overuse the word iconic but it’s true. Kihyun is creating his own brand of K Pop, it’s truly KI-Pop. With phenomenal vocals, original lyrics and unique production, Kihyun is changing the genre of K Pop. He is the undisputed King of K Pop.

Youth by Kihyun Album Review

In the vlog below, I review the album Youth by Kihyun. Each song on this album is so special. The title track Youth is about reflecting on your Youth and childhood and becoming an adult. Then there’s Bad Liar written by Kihyun’s bandmate in Monsta X, Hyungwon. That song has so much swag, it’s so fresh.

Then there’s Stardust, a sweet song. Next up is Where Is This Love, also penned by Hyungwon, it’s the fully English gem on the album. I can’t believe how creative Hyungwon is as a songwriter, he’s becoming the Babyface of K Pop. He has such a distinct sound. The album ends with Cause of You which Kihyun himself co-wrote. It is such a cool song. It feels like a love letter to Monbebe.
